Red Clover
Red Clover
Anywhere red clover is planted, it improves its environment. It is a major food source for bees, it fixes nitrogen levels in the soil to meet the needs of a following crop, and its deep root systems help to prevent soil erosion.
A cluster of red clover shown in full bloom: from its rich pink flowers and distinctive leaves, down to the roots (where so much of clover’s good work is done). As a surprise, yours might arrive with a 4-leaf clover for a bit of extra luck!
This is a handmade item. The leaves, blossoms and roots are all made with handpainted crepe paper, and wired for shape and longevity.
It is displayed on a wood frame painted in a shade reminiscent of old roses, acting as beautifully complimentary backdrop to highlight every botanical detail. The edges of the frame are painted with a lustrous gold wax, and it hangs simply on the wall with a keyhole on the back. Each piece comes signed with a gold wax seal on the reverse, embossed with the Golden Age logo.
dimensions: 6.5” wide x 10” tall
This piece is archival, but is recommended to be displayed away from direct sunlight to keep the colours from fading.
In honour of all the good that clover can do for its environment, 10% of sales from this piece will be donated to Indigenous Voices Awards — supporting and nurturing the work of Indigenous writers in lands claimed by Canada.
