Field Studies

Profiling how different creatives refer to the natural world, Field Studies features people with a creative practice uniquely inspired by nature. Compelling interviews and beautiful photos help to highlight how they use that inspiration to grow their communities, to heal, or to explore forgotten parts of their identity.

Focal Flower

Exploring what grows out of deep focus, Focal Flower is a focused study on a single flower. Absorbing photos from the Golden Age studio of the creation of an in-progress paper flower are accompanied by thoughtful and exploratory writings on a flower’s history, symbology and medical properties, its diverse appearances in art, culture and literature, and what that flower can teach us today.

Heart of the Matter

Heart of the Matter shares the tender backstories behind the most heartfelt pieces that come out of the Golden Age studio: custom work. Infused with the full range of human emotions — from warm recollections to painful pasts — explore the intimate personal stories that are folded into the paper flowers, fruit and butterflies created to carry small pieces of a loving heart.
