Bearded Iris
Bearded Iris
Irises have a beautiful symbolic history. The Greek goddess Iris (whose presence on earth would appear as a rainbow) was seen as a link between heaven and earth, and the chance to receive messages from the gods above. For this reason an iris represents long journeys, the messages contained within, and new beginnings. Sometimes you’ll see clusters of irises engraved on headstones as way to help guide the departed into the afterlife.
